Company News

This year will again be fantastic for us. The Alabaster is very well received and more pieces sold with each show. The new Fitzroy Storm Globes have been selling out at each of our shows and we will be traveling more again. Last year we received a Merit award for our display and products from the Bella Vista Arts Show in Arkansas. Overall sales increased by 25 percent. Our number of shows participated in has decreased but bowl sales have increased to their highest level. We can now announce that we are global with items sold to folks in Switzerland, England, Ireland, Canada and even in China.

My latest creation is still in the final stages of completion. There will be a very special announcement when completed. The research has been done and there are only about five artists in the world (including me) that have successfully achieved this type of sandblasted wood. Please check back for the announcement, release and photos.

You may have noticed the new heading and picture for Alabaster on the home page. I am very excited about working with the stone. There is such a great feeling starting with a stone that could be 2-3 million years old, taken from about 10-12 feet below the surface of the ground, creating the initial round shape by cutting it with a saw, chisel and/or grinder then turning it on the lathe. The material can be more fragile than wood so I put it in a vacuum chamber with special material to strengthen it during processing. It polishes beautifully with a very gloss shine and feels very smooth. I ask everyone to feel the smoothness of the finished stone. Sales of my Banksia kaleidoscopes have been going well. People have been very pleased with our wood items, Alabaster, and Barometer.

If you did not have a chance to visit with us at a show we have items at The Arati Gallery located at 2425 W. Colorado Blvd., Colorado Springs (in Old Colorado City).
